Ms Yong Ying-I, 59, is the Chairman of the Central Provident Fund Board and Senior Adviser, Ministry of Communications and Information.
Ying-I was the Permanent Secretary (Communications and Information) and Permanent Secretary (Cybersecurity) prior to her retirement on 1 April 2022. She started her public service career in 1985 and served in various appointments across several Ministries. Over a span of 36 years, Ying-I held several leadership positions within the Singapore Public Service, including permanent secretary appointments at the Ministry of Manpower, the Ministry of Health, the Public Service Division under Prime Minister’s Office, and National Research Foundation.
Ying-I holds a Master of Economics from the University of Cambridge and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Graduate School of Business. She was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Silver) in 1997 and the Public Administration Medal (Gold) in 2005.
