Luke Van Hooft is a regulatory economist with over 10 years of global experience, currently serving as the Head of Regulatory and Director of Economic Regulation at Optus since July 2012. In addition, Luke is a Board Member at the Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association since October 2018. Prior positions include Associate Principal at Venture Consulting, Director at TelECON Consulting, and Manager of Economic Policy for Emerging Markets at Vodafone. Previous roles also include Economic Analyst at Vodafone Australia and Senior Economist at the Productivity Commission, where extensive work on economic policies and regulatory submissions was conducted. Luke holds a Master of Laws in Law & Economics from The Australian National University and a combined LLB and Bachelor of Economics (Hons) from Western Sydney University.
