Amber Macdonald currently serves as Managing Director and Co-head of Executive Communications at SKDK since September 2023. Prior to this role, Macdonald was Special Assistant to the President and Senior Presidential Speechwriter at The White House from January 2021 to August 2023, where responsibilities included serving as Chief Speechwriter to First Lady Jill Biden. Additional experience includes roles as Associate Director for the 59th Presidential Inaugural Committee, Speechwriter for Biden for President, and Founder of Lede Strategies. Macdonald has held various positions within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, advancing from Deputy Director to Director of Speechwriting, and also served as Communications Director and Speechwriter for the U.S. House of Representatives. Early career highlights include Political Director for Berman for Congress and Field Representative for the California State Assembly. Macdonald holds a BA in English and Theatre from Hanover College.
