Skid Row Housing Trust
Skid Row Housing Trust (the Trust) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that provides permanent supportive housing to people who have experienced homelessness, prolonged extreme poverty, poor health, disabilities, mental illness and/or addiction can lead safe, stable lives in wellness. Skid Row Housing Trust is a nationally-recognized developer and operator of permanent supportive housing, helping hundreds of individuals experiencing homelessness, often struggling with disabling conditions, get off the street each year. Nearly 2,000 people call one of the Trust's 26 buildings, home. HOUSING FIRST Housing is the first step to ending homelessness. The Trust provides residents with access to wrap-around case management and supportive services, usually within the same building. Many of our residents struggle with severe conditions that make staying in housing a challenge, so our staff works closely with residents to help them achieve stability and wellness. Providing a formerly homeless individual with permanent supportive housing costs 1/5-1/3 less than leaving them on the street, improving their quality of life while reducing their reliance on emergency services. DIGNITY WITH DESIGN. With 30 years of of experience working in the Los Angeles’ Skid Row neighborhood, the Trust is at the national forefront of permanent supportive housing design. Our high-quality buildings are centered on the needs of our residents, changing how people view our residents and how our residents view themselves. To do this, the Trust partners with innovative architectural firms to create homes that help residents heal, and promote positive interactions with the surrounding community. We create buildings that are the cornerstones of diverse, inclusive neighborhoods where everyone has a place to call home. Learn more at www.skidrow.org, or e-mail us at info@skidrow.org.
