The Skokie Park District takes pride in its ability to serve the more than 63,000 residents of Skokie, Illinois and its customers throughout Chicagoland. Whether protecting natural resources, preserving historical sites or providing thousands of unique recreational opportunities within its more than 240 acres of parkland, the district has offered a multitude of quality programs since 1928.

In addition to its diverse array of programs and special events, the Skokie Park District also offers summer camps, state-licensed full-day childcare and preschool, and before- and after-school care for grades K-5. The district is a past winner of the “National Gold Medal for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management.”

Skokie Park District

Weber Park Golf Course is the perfect place to learn to golf or work on your short game. Located behind the Skatium Ice Arena on the northwest side of Skokie, the par 3, 9-hole course features bent grass greens, challenging sand traps, and beautiful landscaping. The course is also home to the game of FootGolf, a golf and soccer hybrid sport with giant holes and a very small learning curve.

Weber Park Golf Course

The Weber Leisure Center is a state-of-the-art, full-service recreation center. This venue houses Fitness First, an award-winning fitness center, a running/walking track, several group exercise studios including Pilates, a full-service gymnasium with basketball, volleyball and indoor soccer courts, the park district's athletic offices, early childhood and youth programs, a birthday party center, and the district's administrative offices, including human resources. The facility is connected to the Skatium Ice Arena and the Weber Park Golf Course.

Weber Leisure Center

Tot Learning Center offers a full-day childcare program for infants through five-year-old children. Children can be enrolled two to five days per week, open 50 weeks per year.The center also offers special programs such as enrichment classes, family events and parent meetings. The facility has a secured childcare wing; spacious classrooms; an indoor playroom; a huge multi-purpose room for family events; a private parent-teacher conference room; fenced in playgrounds, and a cooperative program with The Talking Farm(link opens in new tab), located on park district property, adjacent to TLC.The program is licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and nationally accredited by the prestigious National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

**Opens June 5, 2025 | The Skokie Water Playground is the larger of the two outdoor aquatic facilities at the Skokie Park District, next to the Oakton Community Center, at the corner of Skokie Blvd. and Oakton St.Take a leisurely dip in our 14,000 square foot main pool with beach entry, play in our fully accessible splash pad, take a ride down one of our three big slides or take the challenge and stand beneath the big red bucket and get drenched by 300 gallons of water! Then take a break and visit our concession stand and have a cool drink or a frozen treat.

Skokie Water Playground

Skokie Sports Park is home to one of the top 50 golf ranges in America, featuring TrackMan golf launch monitors, grass tees, and an automatic tee-up system. The park also features The Bunker, an indoor golf simulator for authentic indoor practice.Sports Park offers 27 holes of adventure mini-golf, as well as batting cages with a wide variety of speeds. The amenities are perfect for fully customizable parties and events.

Skokie Sports Park

The Skokie Heritage Museum provides a wide variety of history, arts, and cultural programming and bookable experiences for all ages. This facility consists of a historic firehouse, an early pioneer log cabin, and a community garden. The Museum is also home to the Skokie Historical Society and a 22,000 item collection documenting Skokie history.

Whether your preference is hockey, figure skating, or recreational skating, the Skatium Ice Arena has something for everyone. Programs are taught by ice arena and affiliate organization professionals who provide comprehensive ice skating programs and leagues for all ages and abilities. A full-size rink as well as a smaller rink can be used for private parties or roller hockey during the summer. Open for public skating, year-round.

The district's park services division maintains the amenities within 46 parks, including — ball diamonds, playgrounds, landscaped gardens, basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts, a dog park, picnic areas, soccer fields, two golf facilities, parking lots, shelters and restrooms, a boat launch and two butterfly gardens.Park Services also helps maintain two ice rinks, two outdoor swimming pools, a community center, a cultural center for the arts, a leisure center (including a health club and gymnasium), an outdoor nature center with an interpretive center, the Skokie Heritage Museum, two childcare/preschool centers, a community theater venue, The Exploritorium (a children's indoor play and learning space), and an indoor rowing center.

The Oakton Community Center houses The Exploritorium, the district's Active Adults 60 plus lounge, as well as the supervisor for teen events and trips. The center also offers a variety of programs for people of all ages.

Oakton Community Center

Skokie's thirteen-acre nature center is a woodland oasis full of native wildflowers and grasses, ancient oak trees, a two-acre pond, wood chip and asphalt trails, and an adjacent playground. Residing and visiting urban wildlife includes herons, coyotes, flying squirrels, painted turtles, and Cooper's hawks. The indoor visitor facility offers programs for all ages, meeting rooms, and the interactive Woodland Wander Inn. 

Emily Oaks Nature Center

This award-winning facility presents classes, activities, camps, performance and shows in music, theatre, dance, visual arts and circus arts. The center also houses early childhood enrichment programs and culinary arts classes. The Skokie Art Guild, Devonshire Playhouse(link opens in new tab), Thin Ice Ensemble Theatre and the state-licensed Devonshire Preschool(link opens in new tab) call this facility home. Arts partners such as OROT Producers, The Musical Offering and The Skokie Concert Choir also visit us for workshops and performances. Rentals, art partnerships and a variety of art-related birthday party options are also available.

Devonshire Cultural Center

** Opens May 24, 2025 | The Devonshire Aquatic Center is one of the two outdoor aquatic facilities at the Skokie Park District, nestled next to the Devonshire Community Center. This family-friendly facility features a beach entry into the main pool, 25-yard lap swimming lanes, a separate dive tank with a 1-meter diving board and a 3-meter drop slide, and a fully accessible splash pad.
