Skokie Park District
In the Park Specialist III - Operations role, Cummings is responsible for the maintenance of playgrounds, facilities, and athletic areas, with expertise in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and other trade skills. Under the guidance of the Operations and Project Manager, he leads maintenance projects, acting as a crew leader for full-time and seasonal staff. Cummings performs a variety of skilled tasks, including repairs to buildings, equipment, irrigation systems, and mechanical systems. He also handles fence installations, welding, plastering, and lighting system inspections. Cummings manages inventory, follows safety protocols, and operates heavy equipment for various tasks. Additionally, he is responsible for snow removal, pool operations, and emergency response. His leadership extends to overseeing special events and performing work in confined spaces when needed. Cummings plays a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance of park facilities and infrastructure.

In addition to its diverse array of programs and special events, the Skokie Park District also offers summer camps, state-licensed full-day childcare and preschool, and before- and after-school care for grades K-5.
