Lovelace Soirez has held a variety of positions in the engineering and research fields since 2001. Starting as a Radar Measurement Technologist for EG&G Technical Services (now part of URS Corporation), Lovelace then moved to the Institute for Manufacturing (IfM) at the University of Cambridge in 2005, where they worked as a Researcher in Liquid Metal Deposition, Design, and Implementation. In 2007, Lovelace became a Researcher in Synthetic Biology at the University of Cambridge's Department of Plant Sciences. From 2008 to 2012, Lovelace worked as a Senior Research Associate in the Life Sciences Division of Lynntech, Inc., and then moved to Skorpios Technologies, Inc. to become a Principal Engineer - Lead, Integration.
Lovelace Soirez attended Texas A&M University from 1996 to 2000, where they earned a Bachelor of Business Administration - BBA in Management Information Systems, General. Lovelace then went on to the University of Cambridge, where they completed a Master of Engineering - MEng in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from 2004 to 2008.
