Cheryn Ng has been working in the engineering and technology industry since 2015. In 2015, they worked as a Mathematics Tutor and an Intern at DewTouch Innovations Pte Ltd, where they gained a better understanding of how a web solutions company operates and learned video editing for tutorial videos. In 2017, they were a Mechanical Engineer Intern at TAIT Stage Technologies, where they consolidated a literature review of key parameters that affect synthetic rope lifetime, designed a test plan, produced CAD drawings, and documented the process, outcomes and recommendations. In 2018, they were a Summer Intern at The Computer Laboratory, University of Cambridge, where they resumed a research project to build a VR display with HDR capabilities, implemented a rendering algorithm in MATLAB, and applied soldering and 3D printing skills to assemble the hardware components. In 2019, they were a Research Intern at CMR Surgical, where they were given a research project with open-ended goals on image processing applications in the endoscopic scenes, devised and carried out a program of work to explore the topic, and demonstrated the feasibility of semantically segmenting object classes in endoscopic scenes using TensorFlow (Python). Currently, they are a Product and Customer Support Engineer at SLAMcore Limited.

Cheryn Ng attended the University of Cambridge from 2016 to 2019, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Cheryn then continued their studies at the University of Cambridge and graduated with a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Information Engineering in 2020.
