Simon Phillips

Simon Phillips is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in corporate development and finance, currently serving as the Corporate Development and Finance Lead at Slate since October 2022, focusing on opportunities in the electric vehicle sector. Prior to this role, Simon held key positions at Rivian, including Head of Corporate Development and Investor Relations, and at Ford Motor Company, where Simon progressed through various finance roles, including Senior Finance Manager and Associate Director of Global Strategy & Business Consulting. With a strong background in financial analysis, corporate strategy, and team leadership spanning multiple automotive disciplines, Simon has coached teams and led significant projects that contributed to product development and corporate governance. Simon holds a PhD in Computer Modelling of Electrochemical Processes from the Royal Naval Engineering College and a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science & Technology from Brunel University of London, complemented by professional credentials from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
