Merritt Jacob

Merritt Jacob is a seasoned audio professional with extensive experience in sound design, mixing, and recording. Currently serving as Sr. Technical Director at Slate Magazine since August 2018, Merritt previously held the Technical Director position at WNYC Radio from August 2012 to October 2018, overseeing technical operations for high-reach podcasts and radio features. With a longstanding role as Sole Proprietor at M. Jacob Sound & Ridgefield Recording since January 1992, Merritt specializes in sound design and original composition across various styles. Additional roles include Technical Director and Broadcast Engineer for Freakonomics Radio at WNYC Studios and contributing as Staff Engineer and Audio Engineer for various recording projects at Trout Recording and Rebel Country, respectively. Merritt holds a BA in Music, Audio Production, and Journalism from the University of Arizona.
