Luis Mercado

Luis Mercado is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in digital marketing and backend development. Currently serving as a Digital Marketing Software Engineer Technical Lead at Sleep Number Corporation since January 2020, Luis has played a pivotal role in replatforming initiatives. Prior to this, experience includes backend development at BVAccel, where integration with Shopify clients was a key focus, and a notable tenure at WebLinc Commerce, leading significant replatforming projects and backend solutions. Early career roles involved ownership of Differential Designs and academic positions as an Adjunct Professor at Thomas Nelson Community College and Assistant Professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Luis holds a Ph.D. in Experimental Nuclear Physics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Bachelor of Science in Astrophysics from Indiana University Bloomington.
