Koen Aeyels is a seasoned information technology leader with extensive experience in managing ICT departments across various organizations. Currently serving as the Director of Information Technology at Smals since April 2019, Koen oversees ICT and digital strategy, program management, and stakeholder relationships. Prior to this, Koen held the position of Head of ICT at Aquafin for 19 years, managing similar responsibilities within the wastewater treatment sector. Additional roles include Methodology Coordination Staff at AG Insurance and Project Manager at Michelin, complemented by a robust educational background in engineering and information technology from KU Leuven, University of Antwerp, and KU Leuven Faculty of Engineering Technology.
