Fotis Chatzipapadopoulos serves as the Chief Executive Officer and General Director of Smart Agro Hub since April 2022. Prior to this role, Fotis held the position of Director of Product at Centaur Analytics, Inc. from January 2022 to April 2025. From June 2012 to December 2021, Fotis was the Smart Farming Director, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Partner at NeuroPublic S.A., focusing on the invention, development, and production of innovative products and services. Earlier experience includes serving as Technical Director and Co-founder of CYCLOPOLIS from January 2010 to August 2012, and as Co-founder and Member of the Board at Semantix Information Technologies from July 2001 to June 2012. Fotis began a career in academia as a Research Associate at NTUA from 1995 to 1999. Academic qualifications include a Doctorate in Software Engineering and a Diploma in Electrical Engineering, both obtained from the National Technical University of Athens.

Smart Agro Hub S.A is a dynamic competence centre operating in the field of smart farming and agrifood sustainability. It runs as an independent entity (private company) in which the Agricultural University of Athens has joined forces with 9 private Greek companies, engaged in information and automation technologies, digital & energy systems, smart farming technologies and circular agriculture. Smart Agro Hub consists of highly qualified and motivated young scientists supported by a modern infrastructure (networking, computing, experimental facilities) and has full-fledged expertise on project management, capacity building, market linkage and stakeholders’ involvement. Due to consolidated relationships with the local agricultural ecosystem of farmers, agronomists, agricultural research centers, companies and service providers, the company offers consulting services and technological solutions devoted to digitalization of agricultural processes. Smart Agro Hub’s main mission is to conduct applied and technological research that leads to new products and services with industrial, economic, and social impact in the agrifood sector. The company focuses in three main pillars: a. Development of sustainability certification standards and services (Environmental performance, Life Cycle Analysis-LCA, Farm-to-Fork analysis, Materiality assessment, Benchmarking analysis, Carbon mitigation strategies, Sustainability strategy guidance) b. Services for the development of algorithmic models for smart farming (digital twins/crop simulation models, DSS modelling as a service, virtual and remote experimental fields) c. Development of an integrated technological hub for smart farming (connection of smart farming apps). Smart Agro Hub is very active in EU and local grants preparation and implementation.
