Basharat Nahar Islam possesses extensive experience in the telecommunications sector, currently serving as the Head of the Strategic Project Management Office at Smart Axiata since May 2018. Previous roles include Program Manager in the CTIO and CMO Division, Radio Network Planning and Optimization Engineer, Technical Project Manager, and Technical Intern at Smart Axiata. Additional experience includes a brief tenure as an Industrial Trainee at Robi Axiata Limited and Grameenphone Ltd, the latter being the leading telecommunication provider in Bangladesh. Basharat also demonstrated leadership as an Organizer for the International Speakers Management Team at the Youth Leadership Summit 2016, hosted by the Bangladesh Youth Leadership Centre. Early career experience includes working as an English News Presenter at Bangladesh Betar. Educational qualifications include a BSc in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from the Military Institute of Science and Technology, complemented by Higher Secondary and Secondary School Certificates from BAF Shaheen College.
