Rob Heath's work experience includes roles at multiple companies. Rob started their career as a Summer research project student at the University of Leeds in 2009 and 2010. Rob then worked as an intern at NICT in 2011, developing and testing SNSPDs. Rob completed their Ph.D. in next-generation superconducting nanowire single photon detectors at Heriot-Watt University from 2010 to 2013.

After completing their Ph.D., Rob worked as a Research Associate at the University of Glasgow from 2013 to 2018, focusing on quantum sensor technology. Rob was responsible for CAD, electrical and optical design, and construction of cryostats and test hardware.

Currently, Rob Heath is working at SmartBear as a Lead Rails Engineer. Rob is responsible for developing and maintaining the BugSnag SaaS Rails app. Additionally, they manage the day-to-day activities of the team and oversees various aspects of the Rails stack, including billing, mailing users, and product delivery.
