James Barry has a diverse work experience in the financial industry. James started as a Budget Analyst at Thompson National Properties, LLC in 2010 and later became a Senior Financial Analyst at the same company. In 2012, they joined SmartStop Self Storage as a Financial Analyst, where they played a key role in the company's merger with Extra Space. James then moved on to SmartStop Asset Management as the Director of Finance, working on various projects related to non-traded REITs and international investments. In 2017, they were promoted to Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis at SmartStop Asset Management, and in 2019, they became the Chief Financial Officer at SmartStop Self Storage.
James Barry completed their Bachelor's degree in Finance from Cal State Fullerton, College of Business and Economics from 2008 to 2010. James pursued further education and obtained a Master's of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree with a specialization in Finance from Chapman University between 2014 and 2016.
