Joan Plans has a diverse range of work experience. Since 2018, they have been working at smava, initially as the Marketing Manager Display and later as the Director of Marketing. Prior to that, from 2015 to 2017, they served as the Head of Facebook and GDN - SEA team at AUTO1, where they managed teams in multiple countries and handled large budgets. In 2014, they worked as a Social Media Strategist at Pavlov, coordinating social media strategies for various brands. From 2011 to 2014, they held the same role at Havas Sports & Entertainment, focusing on social media strategies for the Nutrexpa group. Joan also has experience in CRM/email marketing, having worked at FloraQueen in 2010. Additionally, they co-created Bitgol SL, a football social network project, and served as the CEO from 2009 to 2010. Before that, from 2009 to 2009, they worked as an Account Executive at TBWA, and from 2007 to 2008, they interned as a Copywriter at Elogia.
Joan Plans completed a Master's degree in Web: Communication, Marketing, and Business from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona from 2010 to 2012. Prior to that, from 2004 to 2008, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Advertising and Public Relations from the Universitat Ramon Llull.

Based on digital processes, smava compares loan offers from more than 20 banks, ranging in value from €1,000 to €120,000. In this way, borrowers can choose and conclude the deal most favourable to them. On average, borrowers pay at smava more than 35 percent less for their loan compared to the national average. In 2018, the volume of loans originated through smava was over $2 billion, with a total of more than $5 billion since inception. As one of the largest fintech businesses in Germany, smava employs around 600 staff with over 45 nationalities under the direction of an experienced management team with strong backgrounds in finance and technology.
