Janet Phillips

Janet Phillips is a Senior Industrial Hygienist at S&ME, Inc. since May 2018, bringing over 32 years of extensive consulting and laboratory experience in areas such as asbestos, lead-based paint, and microbial sampling, as well as industrial hygiene and regulatory compliance. Previously, Janet served as a Senior Project Manager at Apex Companies, LLC, where expertise was focused on conducting surveys and managing projects involving hazardous materials in the Carolinas. Prior roles include Industrial Hygienist for The University of North Carolina, overseeing asbestos and lead programs, and Industrial Hygiene Supervisor at AAA Environmental, managing training and exposure monitoring programs. Janet began the professional journey as an Environmental Scientist at General Engineering Laboratories, following a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Health from Western Carolina University.
