Smile Train
Troy joined Smile Train in 2001 and currently serves as Senior Vice President, Global Fundraising and Relations. He oversees the organization’s community fundraising efforts, Corporate giving, PR and social media and supports the international fundraising entities. He is focused on ensuring Smile Train fulfills their vision of enabling safe surgery and comprehensive care to the global cleft lip and palate community.
Troy started his career at Smile Train in a junior capacity, and subsequently worked his way up to serve as both a Development Associate and Database Manager. In those roles, he oversaw Smile Train’s donor database as it expanded from a few thousand records to millions of records. He has also been responsible for the expansion of Smile Train’s fundraising efforts into new international markets.
In 2006, Troy embarked on his first visit to Nigeria to meet with local Smile Train partner surgeons and patients. Since then, he has traveled all over the US supporting community fundraising events, and has also visited Smile Train’s local partners and programs in Kenya, Ethiopia, Cambodia, India, Haiti, Mexico, Peru, Guatemala, Colombia, the Philippines and Brazil.
Prior to joining Smile Train’s team in 2001, Troy worked for a San Francisco based entertainment company and was involved with a philanthropic family foundation. Troy holds a BA in Advertising and Public Relations from Youngstown State University in Ohio.
