Jay wears a lot of hats as director of the Dallas office. He has served as architect, project manager, and principal-in-charge for numerous higher education projects. On any given day, he finds himself involved in projects ranging from campus recreation to academic teaching labs, to administrative offices, Jay notes. It’s exciting to experience that kind of variety, with each project presenting unique challenges. His work style, he jokes, is like a duck. On the surface, everything appears easy and simple. Underneath, the feet are churning 90 miles an hour. Jay also enjoys teaching, whether through speaking engagements, at local institutions, or mentoring within the firm. Focus on elevating those around you. You’re never too busy to stop and answer a question. Jay embraces learning himself, both on the job and pursuing new interests. He designs and builds wood furniture, and plans to learn to scuba dive with his son.
