Polly McKim Halloran

Polly McKim Halloran serves as the Director of Data Analytics and Insights at the Smithsonian Institution since May 2025. Previously, Polly worked at the U.S. Department of State from November 2021 to May 2025, where roles included Acting Bureau Chief Data and AI Officer and Deputy Bureau Chief Data Officer within the Bureau of International Organizations, as well as Data Scientist for the Center for Analytics. Other notable positions include Cyber Risk Attack Surface Data Analyst at Palo Alto Networks and Data Science and National Security Intern at the Federal Communications Commission. Polly's career also includes experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at The George Washington University, Cyber Risk Business Data Analyst at Expanse, and roles in legal personnel and firm-wide recruiting at WilmerHale and Jones Day, respectively. Polly holds a Master of Science in Data Science from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Business from Rhodes College.
