Alan Spero

Alan Spero is a seasoned marketing and project management professional with extensive experience in creative marketing and multimedia production. Currently serving as Senior Project Manager and Creative Marketing Specialist at SMUD since May 2017, Spero oversees advertising, media, and communication campaigns while developing new programs. Prior roles include Creative Marketing Director and Executive Producer at American River Media, where Spero produced impactful campaigns for nonprofit organizations and digital initiatives for the Mayor’s Office. As Director of Marketing and Media Production at StudentsFirst, Spero led national marketing efforts instrumental in public education reform. Spero's diverse career also includes key positions at Custom Made Media, Johnson and Murphy Advertising, Turner Broadcasting, TV Guide Network, A.I., TiVo, and Fox Broadcasting Company, each contributing to significant advancements in branding and audience engagement. Alan Spero holds a B.A. in Creative Writing and Communications from Carnegie Mellon University.
