Society for Advanced Rocket Propulsion (SARP)

The Society for Advanced Rocket Propulsion (SARP) is a group of student engineers at the University of Washington committed to designing, building, and launching an advanced hybrid sounding rocket every year. We compete in the annual Spaceport America Cup in New Mexico, in which over 100 student teams from around the world compete with their rockets. We compete in the most technically challenging category: student researched and developed hybrid motor with an altitude goal of 30,000 feet above ground level. Our team consists of over 100 undergraduate students from many different majors, including aeronautics & astronautics, mechanical, chemical, electrical, and computer engineering as well as other non-engineering majors.
