Uma Arthika Katikapalli has been working in the embedded engineering field since 2011. Uma Arthika began their career as an Industrial Trainee at Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited and Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited. In 2013, they took on a Research Intern role at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. From 2015 to 2016, they worked as an Electrical Engineer at YouVisit, where they built prototype camera rigs and wrote firmware to a Blend Micro board. From 2016 to 2017, they were an Embedded Systems Engineer at Gen-9, Inc., where they designed circuits, built, soldered, tested circuits and wrote firmware to a range of microcontrollers. Currently, they are an Embedded Hardware Engineer at Sofar Ocean.

Uma Arthika Katikapalli has a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology and Research Academy, which they completed in 2013. Uma Arthika also completed a Research Internship in Industrial Engineering (IOC) Control Systems at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in 2013. After that, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) in Electrical Engineering at New York University, which they completed in 2015.
