Tony Wasserman is a distinguished professional with extensive experience in software product development and management. Currently serving as Principal at Software Methods and Tools since 1997, Wasserman provides consulting on software strategies and coaches tech founders. As a member of IFIP Working Group 2.13 since 2006, with a leadership role as Chair from 2015 to 2022, Wasserman contributes to the global discourse on open source systems. From 2005 to 2023, Wasserman held the position of Professor of Software Management Practice at Carnegie Mellon Silicon Valley, focusing on developing software leaders and creating a research group for open source software evaluation. Previous leadership roles include serving on the Board of Directors for the Open Source Initiative, directing a Mobile Middleware Lab at Hewlett-Packard, and managing product development at Bluestone Software and Interactive Development Environments, Inc.
