Stefano Zacchiroli

Chief Technology Officer at Software Heritage

Stefano Zacchiroli is a Full Professor of Computer Science at Télécom Paris since September 2021 and serves as the Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of Software Heritage, the largest public archive of software source code and its development history, since January 2015. With extensive experience in open-source software, Zacchiroli has been a Debian Developer since March 2001 and has held the position of Debian Project Leader three times from 2010 to 2013. Additional roles include serving as a Board Director at the Open Source Initiative since April 2014 and as an Advisory Board Member at Bitergia since July 2013. Formerly an Associate Professor at Université Paris Diderot until August 2021 and a researcher at various institutions, Zacchiroli holds a PhD in Computer Science from Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna, earned in 2006, and a Laurea in Computer Science from the same institution in 2002.
