Tomas Cebecauer is a highly experienced professional in the fields of geoinformatics, geography, and solar energy, currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer at Solargis since January 2010. Cebecauer has been instrumental in the development and operation of a high-resolution global solar resource database and related tools for efficient solar energy system design and management. Prior to this role, Cebecauer held the position of Technical Director at GeoModel and served as an Expert in the Renewable Energies Unit at the European Commission's Joint Research Centre, contributing significantly to the PVGIS online portal and various satellite-based solar radiation models. Cebecauer's academic background includes a PhD in Cartography and Geoinformatics and an MSc in Geography and Cartography from Slovak academic institutions, coupled with extensive research experience at the Institute of Geography, Slovak Academy of Sciences.
