Allan Stephan

Allan Stephan has an extensive work experience spanning several industries and roles. Allan is currently a Fellow at Conduit Venture Labs. Prior to that, they served as a Member of the Board of Directors at EverCase, Inc. In 2014, Allan co-founded Soovu Labs, Inc., where they served as the CEO and played a significant role in the development of a wearable device for pain treatment. Allan also co-founded Stratos Group in 2001 and served as its CEO until 2016. Additionally, Allan co-founded Stratos Genomics, Inc. in 2007 and worked as the CEO until 2016. During this time, the company developed DNA analysis technology for diagnostics and was acquired by Roche in 2020. Allan's entrepreneurial journey began in 1987 when they founded Stratos Product Development, LLC., where they served as the CEO until 2016. Allan also co-founded Amnis Corporation in 1998, where they worked until 2011. Allan served as the Chairman of Micronics from 2002 to 2008. Allan co-founded Inroad, Inc. in 1997 and served as its Chairman and CEO until 2000. Finally, Allan founded EnRoute Media Networks in 1997 and served as the Chairman and CEO until 2000.

Founded by two pain management physicians at the University of Washington Medical Center, we’re a team of electrical engineers, consumer product design experts, employee health and wellness leaders, and behavioral coaching veterans. We strive to offer employers a fast, effective, and drug-free solution to help their employees recover from an injury, manage chronic pain and arthritic pain, relieve muscle tension and soreness and more. Soovu began when Drs. Charles Chabal and Peter Dunbar, board-certified physicians in pain management at the University of Washington, were personally moved by witnessing the tragedy opioids wrought on patients and their families. They challenged themselves: could there be a new, drug-free approach to treating chronic pain? With 10+ years of R&D and a $1.5 million grant from the National Institutes of Health, the doctors created, refined and tested Soovu. The result: the only wearable using heat pulses that is clinically proven to reduce chronic, musculoskeletal and menstrual pain and is FDA registered. This rechargeable pod is at the center of our pain relief system. It emits precise heat pulses to stop the pain signal and produce a soothing effect. Attached to the pain point with a disposable adhesive, pods can be worn discreetly throughout the day. Participants also receive personalized coaching, movement and flexibility exercises, and meditation and relaxation training—all through the Soovu app.
