Alexandra Buga

Alexandra Buga serves as the Director of Business Development at SOPHiA GENETICS, specializing in identifying and driving new business development opportunities and strategic partnerships since September 2021. Previously, at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center from June 2012 to August 2021, Alexandra held several roles, including Licensing Manager, overseeing the Technology Development Fund that invested over $19 million, and Licensing Associate, managing various institutional business development initiatives. Alexandra's early career includes positions as a Research Associate at HSCD, a Laboratory Technician at Creighton University, and an analytical researcher at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. Academically, Alexandra holds an MBA and a Master of Science in Bioscience Management from Creighton University, a Certificate in Alternative Investments from Harvard Business School, and a Biomedical Device Development Graduate Certificate from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, along with a BA in Chemistry and Classics from the College of the Holy Cross.
