Charmaine Carvalho

Charmaine Carvalho is an experienced media professional currently serving as Senior Production Editor at South China Morning Post (SCMP) since January 2018, previously holding the position of Production Editor. Prior to SCMP, Charmaine worked at Hong Kong Baptist University from February 2009 to January 2018 as a PhD student and English Editor. Charmaine's tenure in journalism includes roles as Features Writer at South China Morning Post from October 2007 to February 2009, Assistant Editor at The Asset Publishing and Research from July 2006 to October 2007, and Sub-editor at Mid Day as well as Asian Age Pvt Ltd between November 2001 and July 2004. Charmaine holds a Master of Arts in English Literature from the Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages (2004-2006) and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from St Xavier's College, Mumbai (1999-2001).
