David Ruy has extensive experience in architectural education and practice, currently serving as Chair of Postgraduate Programs at SCI-Arc since September 2016. Ruy has been the Director of Ruy Klein since January 2000 and has held various academic positions, including Lecturer at Leopold-Franzens Universität Innsbruck from September 2013 to August 2017, and Professor as well as Director of Urban Design and Research at Pratt Institute until July 2017. Additional roles include DAAD Visiting Scholar at Staedelschule and External Examiner for the Architectural Association’s Design Research Laboratory. Ruy has also contributed to the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture as Chair for the 103rd Annual Meeting and has served as a visiting professor at multiple institutions, including Washington University in St. Louis and Syracuse University. Academically, Ruy earned a Master of Architecture from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Mathematics from St. John's College.
