Breanne Pleggenkuhle

Breanne Pleggenkuhle is an Associate Professor at Southern Illinois University since 2012, where the research agenda emphasizes the experiences of individuals after felony convictions, community context and housing experiences of returning citizens, and the role of gender in correctional contexts. Breanne teaches courses for both undergraduate and graduate students in the Criminology and Criminal Justice program, covering topics such as Corrections, Community Corrections, and Qualitative Research Methods. Previous roles include Graduate Research Assistant and Instructor at the University of Missouri - St. Louis, where experience in geographic analyses and teaching was gained. Breanne also served as a Crime Analyst for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, focusing on crime data analysis and reporting. Educational qualifications include a PhD and an MA in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis, as well as a BA in Community Sociology and Psychology from Wartburg College.
