Mark Peterson

Mark Peterson is the current Associate Dean at Southern Illinois University. Mark has also served as the Chairman of the Department of Finance and as a Professor of Finance at the university. Peterson began their career as an engineer for HRB Systems / E-Systems / Raytheon from May 1991 to January 1995. Mark then worked as an engineer for the National Security Agency from June 1987 to September 1990. In 1997, Peterson became an Assistant Professor of Finance at Southern Illinois University and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2003. Mark served in this role until 2010 when they became a Member Board of Directors for SIU Credit Union. Peterson has also served on the Board of Directors and Finance Committee for Southern Illinois District-LCMS.

Mark Peterson has a Ph. D. in Finance from Penn State University, an MS in Electrical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, and a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nebraska.

They are on a team with Christie Mitchell - Chief Marketing Officer, Kristine McCurdy - Business Manager I, and Peter Mykytyn - Chair, Management. Mark Peterson reports to Terry Clark, Dean, College of Business.
