Brad Chamberlain is an accomplished Principal Engineer specializing in Fleet Safety Analysis at Southern Nuclear since August 2014. With extensive experience in safety analysis, Brad leads the safety analysis for Vogtle Units 3&4 and holds significant roles within the PWROG Analysis Subcommittee. Responsibilities encompass a wide range of safety analysis areas including dose assessment and radiation shielding. Prior to this, Brad served as a Senior Engineer focusing on safety analysis calculations and nuclear development oversight, addressing design changes and licensing for new reactors. Earlier career highlights include a role as a Severe Accident Engineer at Babcock & Wilcox mPower, Inc. and various engineering positions at Framatome, tackling nuclear security, structural analysis, tool design, and nuclear fuel compliance. Brad holds a Master of Engineering and a Graduate Certificate in Nuclear Engineering from Virginia Tech, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University.

Southern Nuclear operates a total of seven units for Alabama Power and Georgia Power at the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant near Dothan, Ala.; the Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant near Baxley, Ga., and the Alvin W. Vogtle Electric Generating Plant near Waynesboro, Ga. The company recently achieved commercial operation on Vogtle Unit 3 and is the current licensee of Vogtle Unit 4, which is under construction.
