David M. Sexton, P.E., PMP, is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in the nuclear industry and military project management. Currently serving as a Lead Engineer at Southern Nuclear since October 2018, David has held various leadership roles, including Interim CMO Manager and Senior Engineer, focusing on governance, maintenance optimization, and engineering program expertise. Prior experience includes consulting for Applied Technical Services, Inc., where David managed mechanical integrity projects, and progressive engineering roles at Southern Nuclear that emphasized corrosion mitigation and inspection. David's military background as an Army National Guard Engineer Officer involved planning and executing extensive project operations in Afghanistan. Academically, David holds a Bachelor of Science in Materials Engineering and a Master of Business Administration in Finance.

Southern Nuclear operates a total of seven units for Alabama Power and Georgia Power at the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant near Dothan, Ala.; the Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant near Baxley, Ga., and the Alvin W. Vogtle Electric Generating Plant near Waynesboro, Ga. The company recently achieved commercial operation on Vogtle Unit 3 and is the current licensee of Vogtle Unit 4, which is under construction. Both of these units represent historic achievements for the nuclear industry as the first new nuclear units to reach commercial operation and be built in the United States in the last three decades.
