Matt Horn is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in nuclear operations and regulatory affairs. Currently serving as the Site Capital Projects Senior Manager and Site Regulatory Affairs Manager at Southern Nuclear since April 2018, Matt has previously held multiple managerial roles at Southern Company, including Shift Manager and Shift Operations Manager, where responsibilities included overseeing day-to-day operations at Plant Vogtle's Operations Department. Matt’s early career included a position as Shift Supervisor and Senior Engineer at Southern Company. Matt holds an MBA in Management from Augusta State University and a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Southern Nuclear operates a total of seven units for Alabama Power and Georgia Power at the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant near Dothan, Ala.; the Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant near Baxley, Ga., and the Alvin W. Vogtle Electric Generating Plant near Waynesboro, Ga. The company recently achieved commercial operation on Vogtle Unit 3 and is the current licensee of Vogtle Unit 4, which is under construction. Both of these units represent historic achievements for the nuclear industry as the first new nuclear units to reach commercial operation and be built in the United States in the last three decades.
