Kevin McConnell has work experience with various companies, including Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc., Insight Global, and WVU Medicine. Kevin started working at WVU Medicine in 2016 as an IT Security Intern. In 2017, they joined Insight Global as a Helpdesk Technician, and later became a Junior ISSO. Since 2019, Kevin has been working as an Information System Security Engineer at Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc.
Kevin McConnell pursued their education in a progressive manner, commencing with their Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems degree at West Virginia University from 2012 to 2017. Kevin then continued their academic journey, earning a Master's degree in Information Technology from George Mason University between 2019 and 2022. In addition to their formal education, Kevin obtained two significant certifications. In May 2018, they became CompTIA Security+ Certified CE through CompTIA, and in April 2018, they received a Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge v4 from the Cloud Security Alliance.

SPA was founded in 1972 with three employees working primarily with the U.S. Navy, leading major technical support programs for the Strategic Systems Programs (SSP).
