Matt Walker

Matt Walker, PMP, currently serves as the AUKUS Senior Program Analyst at Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc., specializing as a Submarine Shipbuilding Subject Matter Expert for the AUKUS submarine program. Prior to this role, Matt Walker had a distinguished career in the US Navy from July 2002 to November 2023, holding positions such as Engineering Duty Officer and Submarine Warfare Officer. Significant responsibilities included serving as Chief Engineer aboard the USS SAN JUAN, where leadership of a 50-member team was key to safely operating the ship's systems, and overseeing auxiliary systems on the USS PITTSBURGH. Matt Walker has also held critical managerial roles at Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion and Repair, and Naval Sea Systems Command, focusing on substantial submarine manufacturing projects, including the $16B VIRGINIA class submarine program. Matt Walker holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University and a Master's degree in Systems Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School, in addition to ongoing education with the Institute for Veterans and Military Families.
