Franz Bauer

Franz Bauer is an accomplished academic and researcher in the field of astronomy, currently serving as an Associate Professor at the Instituto de Astrofísica, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile since August 2013, where responsibilities include teaching astronomy to undergraduate and graduate students and conducting research focused on deep surveys, active galactic nuclei (AGN), and nearby supernovae and X-ray binaries (SN/XRBs). Concurrently, Franz Bauer operates as a Research Scientist at the Space Science Institute, engaging in similar research activities along with proposal writing and publications. Previous positions include Assistant Professor at the Departamento de Astronomía y Astrofísica, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and various roles as a Research Scientist at prestigious institutions such as Columbia University, the University of Cambridge, and Pennsylvania State University.
