Georgi Staykov is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in scaling and managing engineering organizations. Currently serving as Senior Vice President of Engineering at Cobalt since February 2019, Georgi has overseen the growth of the engineering team from 10 to over 50 members, fostering a sustainable and productive environment through agile, autonomous cross-functional teams. Prior to Cobalt, Georgi held the position of Director of Engineering at Careem, where contributions included expanding the engineering team from 10 to 100 engineers and managing multiple teams. Georgi also gained significant experience at VMware, leading key projects in software-defined data center technology and integrating security solutions, while starting as a Software Engineer at Sciant. Georgi holds a degree from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, completing studies in 2008.
