Joel Yavelberg has a diverse work experience. Joel began their career as a teacher and worked in the education sector from 2010 to 2013. After that, they transitioned to the field of digital marketing and worked at Optimedia US as a planner and senior planner for two years. Joel then joined Blue 449, where they held various roles related to paid search, including supervisor, associate director, and director, from 2016 to 2019. In 2020, they joined Publicis Media as a Director of Performance Media and worked there until 2023. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President of Performance Media at Spark Foundry.

Joel Yavelberg obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology from Rutgers University between 2004 and 2008. Following this, they pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Elementary Education and Teaching at Montclair State University from 2008 to 2010.
