Peter Heeckt

Peter Heeckt, MD, PhD, is a seasoned professional in the medical and biopharmaceutical fields, currently serving as a Board Member at Speratum Biopharma, Inc., where efforts focus on developing miRNA-based therapeutics for pancreatic and other solid cancers since August 2014. In addition, Peter is an Adjunct Professor of Surgery at the University of Ulm since 2004 and co-founded LICOS - Life Sciences Consulting Services, LLC, holding the position of managing member from 2012 to 2020. Previous roles include Chief Medical Officer at Bioventus (2012-2018) and Smith & Nephew (2005-2012), Co-Director at Blasticon Biotechnological Research (2003-2005), and Medical Director at Fresenius Group (2001-2005). Peter also directed the Surgical Academy at Maquet GmbH & CO. KG from 1998 to 2001 and worked as an Attending Surgeon at the University of Ulm from 1996 to 1998. Educational background includes MD from the Technical University of Munich and a research fellowship in transplant surgery from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
