Ian Critchley has over 30 years of experience in the field of clinical microbiology. Ian most recently held the position of Vice President and Head of Clinical Microbiology at Spero Therapeutics starting in 2018. Prior to this, they served as Vice President of Clinical Microbiology at Allergan from 2015 to 2018. Ian also worked as a Principal at PharMicro Consulting, LLC, specializing in antibacterial R&D and clinical microbiology in 2015. Ian held the role of Vice President of Clinical Microbiology at Cerexa from 2008 to 2014 and Executive Director of Microbiology at Replidyne from 2002 to 2008. Ian's extensive career also includes serving as Director of Laboratory Services at Focus Technologies from 1998 to 2002 and as a Senior Investigator at SmithKline Beecham from 1986 to 1996.
Ian Critchley completed their Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Microbiology from Cardiff University/Prifysgol Caerdydd in 1982. Ian then pursued further education and obtained their Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Glasgow in 1986.
