Professor Danielle McCarthy, PhD, RNutr

Professor Danielle McCarthy, PhD, RNutr, currently serves as a Professor of Practice (Honorary) at Queen's University Belfast since May 2023 and as Chief Health Officer at Spoon Guru since November 2022, where expertise in Nutrition Intelligence Technology supports healthy dietary choices. McCarthy co-founded Nutrition Talent Limited in February 2018, a consultancy and recruitment company specializing in nutrition expertise, and previously held the role of Senior Lecturer at Queen's University Belfast until January 2023. Additionally, McCarthy founded Live It Up Ventures Ltd., a health and wellbeing consultancy, and has held nutritionist positions at Sainsbury's and Lucozade Ribena Suntory. McCarthy’s career began with GSK as Principal Scientist, developing strategic research platforms and leading human intervention trials, along with a foundational role at the University of Reading as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow and a PhD student focusing on dietary fatty acids and metabolic syndrome.
