Joseph Vena has had a diverse range of work experiences in the healthcare industry. Joseph started their career in 2013 as a Clinical Nurse in the Hematology/Oncology Inpatient Unit at Hahnemann University Hospital, where they provided inpatient care and administered chemotherapy. Joseph then worked as a Clinical Nurse in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at Temple Health – Temple University Health System from 2014 to 2015. In 2015, Joseph became an Adjunct Clinical Instructor at Drexel University's College of Nursing and Health Professions, where they taught nursing students. From 2016 to 2019, they worked as a Clinical Research Nurse at the University of Pennsylvania's Lymphoma Translational Research Program, managing clinical trials and providing medical care to participants. Joseph then joined AstraZeneca in 2019 as an Associate Director in Medical Education and Grants for US Medical Affairs. In this role, they oversaw medical education grants and contributed to the development of policies and procedures. Currently, Joseph is working at SpringWorks Therapeutics as an Associate Director in Medical Education and Sponsorships in Global Medical Operations. Here, they lead the strategy for independent medical education grants and sponsorships and establishes the necessary infrastructure and processes.

Joseph Vena holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Nursing from Villanova University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Drexel University. Joseph is also certified as an Oncology Certified Nurse by the Oncology Nursing Society and as a Registered Nurse by the Pennsylvania Department of State.
