Michael Heilemann

Michael Heilemann is an accomplished design leader with extensive experience in product design and user experience. Currently serving as VP and Principal Designer at Squarespace since November 2010, Michael has focused on platform-level user experiences and led the establishment of a robust product design team. Responsibilities included building a team of 30, developing management structures, and implementing quality-driven processes. Michael played a significant role in the launch of Squarespace 6 and 7 while also directing interface design across all products. Prior to Squarespace, Michael was self-employed, developing well-known open source blogging templates and providing design services to Danish companies. Additional experience includes design roles at Io Interactive, contributing to acclaimed video games, and web design at Omedia for notable entertainment industry clients. Michael holds a BA in Computer Arts from Abertay University.
