Dongyun Shin is an experienced engineer currently serving as an Engineer III at SRI since April 2023. Previously, Dongyun worked as a Research Engineer at PARC where contributions included designing a high-pressure fluid system and an electrospray system. Prior roles include Research Engineer and Research Assistant at Purdue University, focusing on the spray characteristics of alternative aviation fuels and building high-pressure spray test rigs. Additional experience includes developing a hybrid laser flare reduction technique at Virginia Tech and leading a mechanical design team for a planetary rover project at NASA Johnson Space Center. Dongyun holds a PhD and an MS in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Purdue University, as well as a Bachelor's degree from Virginia Tech.
