Denis Nowlan

Chair Of Governors at St George's Weybridge

Denis Nowlan serves as the Executive Director at Initiatives of Change United Kingdom since March 2024, leading collaborative efforts with international partner charities. In addition, Denis holds the position of Chair of Governors at St George's Weybridge, overseeing one of the largest independent Catholic schools in the UK, which has achieved "Excellent" ratings in its recent ISI inspection. As a member of the Board of Trustees for A Coeur Ouvert, Denis contributes to a restorative justice program in French prisons. Previously, Denis had a long tenure at BBC from 1989 to July 2022, serving in various roles including Head of Business for Radio 4 and Radio 4 Extra, and as a Leadership Coach and Mediator. Denis's extensive experience in broadcasting is complemented by a leadership role as Chair of the Cultural Radio Group at the European Broadcasting Union from October 2014 to June 2022. Denis's educational background includes studies at Balliol College, Oxford, Gregorian University, and the University of Bradford School of Management.
