Ms. Akers joined St. John Properties in 2007. As Executive Director of Special Projects, she oversees the company’s outreach and involvement in initiatives and activities that support communities in which we have a corporate presence. Ms. Akers is also President of the Edward St. John Foundation in which she manages and facilitates philanthropic support of the company and foundation. Ms. Akers earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from the University of Maryland College Park. She serves on the Board of Trustees for the University of Maryland College Park Foundation, UMMC R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma, Johns Hopkins Heart & Vascular Institute, UM Baltimore Washington Medical Center, Yumi CARES Foundation, among others.
