Christian P. Vaupel

VP, Advancement & University Relations at St. John's University

In December of 2016, Christian (Chris) Vaupel was named Vice President for Advancement and University Relations at St. John’s. He brings nearly 20 years of experience in fund-raising and alumni relations to the University.

Prior to arriving at St. John’s, Dr. Vaupel served as Vice President for University Advancement at Adelphi University in Garden City, NY. In that role, he was responsible for all of Adelphi’s fund-raising and alumni relations activities and programs.

Dr. Vaupel also served as Associate Vice President of Development at the National Center for Disability Services (now The Viscardi Center) in Albertson, NY. In that role, he directed the organization’s annual, major, and planned giving programs.

Dr. Vaupel holds a bachelor’s degree (cum laude) and a master’s degree from Adelphi University, and completed the Management Development Program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. In 2014, he earned his doctorate in Higher Education Management at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education.

Dr. Vaupel resides on Long Island with his wife and their two daughters.
